True Beauty

“True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.” ~ Audrey Hepburn

So often in photography we see images of fashion model types who are photoshopped to what is generally perceived as perfection; however, I feel it’s our imperfections that make us unique and beautiful. I find that I’m more drawn to photographs that express authenticity. It got me thinking that I’d like to do a series of photo shoots/blog posts that portray the strength and beauty of real women. I want to show that genuine radiance is not about flawless hair or makeup, high fashion, or a perfect physique. I believe it’s about being comfortable in our own skin and not being afraid to show our vulnerabilities. It’s about self-expression and living with intention. It’s about learning, growing, and facing adversity with the heart of a warrior.

The first photo shoot of my series took place the other day. The lovely woman who will be featured embodies all the characteristics I mentioned above. I cannot wait to share her images, which will be coming soon. I will (hopefully) have several more women to follow. Stay tuned.
